Free Snow Science Curriculum Workshop at the Mt Shasta Nordic Center
A Field-based SnowSchool for Formal and Informal Educators
This Saturday, January 30th 2016 ~ 12:00pm – 4:00pm
Workshop: Led by Kerry McClay Ed.D., this field-based training will explore SnowSchool snow science curriculum and activities for elementary, middle school and high school students.
About SnowSchool: Winter Wildlands Alliance’s SnowSchool is an unforgettable winter adventure that combines hands-on science education with ski/snowshoe-powered outdoor exploration. With 28,000 annual participants at 45 sites (including Mt Shasta Nordic) across the U.S., SnowSchool is a hit with teachers and students!
The SnowSchool program aims to inspire a lifelong interest in exploring the wonders of our winter wildlands. The curriculum that accompanies the program is designed to match the interest and abilities of students at both elementary and secondary levels. Additionally the SnowSchool curriculum is designed to align with current science standards.
