Mt. Shasta Nordic is hosting Skate and Classic clinics with Chauncey Parker, Clinician and Examiner for the Professional Ski Instructors of America. Join us for this once-a-season opportunity to sharpen your skills and improve your skate and classic techniques.

Saturday, January 26

11am-1pm ~ New to Skating2-4pm ~ Intermediate/Advanced Skate Techniques

10am-12pm ~ Intermediate Classic Techniques

Produced each year as a celebratory, backcountry community event by the Winter Wildlands Alliance, the 14th Annual Backcountry Film Festival film line-up is full of snowy, cinematic adventure sure to inspire both the local backcountry and general communities. Winter Wildlands Alliance is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving winter wildlands and quality human-powered snow sports experiences on public lands.By partnering with groups like Mt. Shasta Nordic at a local level, Winter Wildlands Alliance raises funds for these groups and communities through the annual Backcountry Film Festival national tour. All funds raised directly benefit local projects and programs that perpetuate access and stewardship of public lands.Join Mt. Shasta Nordic to celebrate winter and the human-powered experience with a night of snow-inspired filmmaking and artistry. Profits go directly towards the Mt. Shasta Nordic Ski School program, which provides access to Siskiyou County students of all ages encouraging them to pursue and value winter recreation and stewardship of the Mt. Shasta region.

Many thanks to our supportive volunteers, board members and staff raising the yurt last week, and thanks to Mike Hupp for documenting the day.Also, huge thanks to our premier supporter Mt. Shasta Ski Park for storing and moving our trailers and for snowmobile and groomer support throughout the year. We simply couldn't do it without you!We plan on opening soon with a little bit more snow. Keep up your snow dancing and in the meantime enjoy these photos documenting the yurt raising.

Wine & Dine for Valentine's - February 9th

Join Mt. Shasta Nordic for our 2nd Annual Wine & Dine For Valentine's! This annual event is our celebration of love and the things we love- fine wine, delicious food, and a great party!

6 PM - 10 PM

Mt. Shasta Community Building

This year's Wine & Dine features a diverse and unique selection of silent auction items featuring the work of local artisans, the services of local professionals, and ski experiences to help you fall in love with winter all over again. The tapas dinner will feature a wide selection of different dishes from the kitchens of your local community members. Dessert auction offerings are also brought to you from some of Mt. Shasta's finest pâtissiers and pâtissières.

A variety of regional wines will be served as well as Sierra Nevada and Caldera Brewing beer. We will also be serving the local & underground DAbuchary Kombucha, as well as Caldera Brewing Ginger Ale & Root Beer.

For your dancing needs we will have an all local set of live bands providing entertainment: Rick Garrett, Blue Relish, and Wind Fields! Enjoy the bohemian-esque lounge, and a Polaroid photo booth to capture the memories. Join us to wine, dine, and be merry!

WINTER WILDLANDS ALLIANCE 2017/2018 Backcountry Film Festival

Mt. Shasta Nordic is again hosting the Backcountry Film Festival, a production of Winter Wildlands Alliance. Don't miss this awesome set of films celebrating human-powered winter recreation!

The show will be held on Saturday, January 13th at the Mt. Shasta Community Building, 629 Alder St. in Mt. Shasta, CA. Doors at 6, show at 7! We will have beer, wine, kombucha, popcorn and hors d'oeuvres.

Tickets - $20 at the door only!
