Nordic Snow Cat Repair Update

Dear Nordic Center Community,

We had to remove Ms. Kitty’s engine and send it to the manufacturer to be rebuilt. Sorry, she won’t be ready before the end of this season. The good news is that we will have a fully functional groomer for next ski season. The not-so-good news is that we will spend approximately $25,000 to have the engine remanufactured and replace aging components, which will tap our capital repair/replacement fund. Our mechanic crew is volunteering their time, so we’re getting a full rebuild for the price of parts! If you’d like to help defray these costs, you can donate here.

The Mt. Shasta Ski Park will continue to provide backup grooming on the weekends, and we will supplement with the snowmobile groomer mid-week. Many thanks to Richard Coots, Guy Morris, and Danni Jonsson at Mt. Shasta Ski Park for keeping our trails groomed during this time!

We thank you for your patience and apologize for the inconvenience as we navigate this situation.

Nordic community members have been asking how they can help, so we started a groomer repair fund.

Thank you for your support!
